He is the current Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs since August 2018. Asad Umar was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan from Constituency NA-48 (Islamabad-I) from 2013 to 2018. He Joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2012 & became senior vice president of PTI.
